      Nice forums :-)
You setup this quite quick and nice theme and subjects,
I posted a comment on your xat chatbox about how you can imbed these forums into a standerd page on your webs.com site, but now that I have seen these I don't think that would work so well "just these forums nice theme inside a standerd webs.com site"
so yeh forget i mentioned that lol :-)

But I have just one other thing i would like to offer you :-)
Would you like any graphics, banners, wallapaers, logos or whatever done ?
I would be happy to custom make you something if you would like, all FREE :-)
      I can do animations aswell.

Just thought i would suggest it as i love to make banners and other art for friends, gives me a warm spote when i see a friend with it and you know you made it ;-)

Sure, that would be awesome, Mike! Very Happy
Thanks for the offer. I was actually working on a logo myself for the forums, but I'm having a problem with the software that I'm using (the free Synfig animation software). For some reason, it wont import an animated gif correctly. So I'm fixing to go get help with that at the Synfig forums.
But yeah, that would be awesome if you could work on a logo for me. sunny

I bought the CS4 Master collection Cool So I have all the major titles such as Photoshop cs4 extended, fireworks, flash pro ect. ect.
But yeh I am only to happy to help, You got any ideas on a design ?

got any specifics ? = sizes, colours, images
I always try my best to be as precise as possible to what people want :-)

Yeh, Flash is pretty neat, but I love Synfig because its free and open source. Wink
You can check out Synfig at this link.
Yeh, I was thinking the logo should be something like a rotating 3d globe, like this one for example (I like it a lot), with that flaming text that's already up "The ETS Forums", and maybe the globe moving horizantally, or maybe even in an orbit through what looks like space with a lot of stars, other planets, etc., and some text that says something like "Connecting experts from all over the world"...something like that. pirate
The logo should have a black background, which the parts that move stay inside.

oh yep sweet and yeh i mainly use photoshop with .gif outputs as flash isn't fully compatible with everyone and I have not played with flash that much yet,
The globe you was talking about was it the little globes on ever side of the title ? or was it the globe that the computer guy was siting on ?

I will see what i can pull together :-)

Did you click on that link? I like that globe a lot. I figure there only needs to be one that moves around (it can represent the Earth) in the logo.

What size was you looking for ?
same size as the flaming text image ?

I had a play with the spinning earth animation with the flaming text over it but not too sure on the orbit with other planets & stars, did you want the earth to move across the landscape and back across as though its in orbit, like big earth aross then small earth going back around in background with the flaming text title in middle or on top ? with the slogen bellow it ? and did you want the "Connecting experts from all over the world" text to be flaming aswell ? or something else.
I will have to play with it more "i haven't really looked into it much :-)

I will send you a .gif of the spinning earth and text so you can see how it will look when its orbiting ;-)

p.s. I tryed synfig but think i will stick with photoshop :-) there both quite simular though

Sorry, I guess I should have described it better. I want the flaming text (I'll send you the gif) above the spinning and orbiting earth. The flaming text, I think, would look best at the top, and centered in the black background, with the orbiting earth starting out at the bottom, slightly off-center, and then cutting underneath the text when it reaches that point, and circling back to the starting point. The earth I think should have a few smaller spheres around it (which will orbit as well, except for the sun, which should by rights be larger than the earth). And there should be a few twinkling stars sprinkled here and there, blinking their lights, which will stay in a fixed position. The smaller spheres will represent some of the other planets in our solar system (such as Mars, Mercury, etc.). I'll be searching for some stuff to send you in the meantime. Obviously this make take a little while to design (even with both of us working on it).
Oh, and I want the text to stay "Connecting experts from all over the globe", instead of "world". I think it sounds better. And no, that can be normal text (maybe, white).

Thanks very much Mike! Basketball I truly appreciate it.

I'm thinking we can take that glowing sun, and maybe throw most of the rest of the image away. Wink
Or maybe we could use a couple of the planets as well.

I guess the sun can be static, and the planets revolve around it.

Hopefully I'll be able to get some more work done on it soon, though.

But personally I don't think it looks all that great. I worked on it some today, for the first time in a while. But now I'm about to go to bed, and I'll probably work on it some more tomorrow.

BTW, since I changed the theme and all, then went back to the old one, I lost all the custom colors and everything (including the Send button color). I'll have to re-add those tomorrow.
